A great wedding venue can be finding a diamond in the rough.
Finding a perfect venue for wedding can be tricky stuff, This Easter weekend we catered a wedding of 30 people in the small community of Lochlin in an old school house turned community center. We visited the location and although it is quaint it needed a lot of decoration. The Bride Lacey and her family transformed the old school house into a beautiful reception area with white on white linen. Karen followed suit and created a beautiful buffet including a high topped table featuring our white on white cupcakes created by our own Tara Kacaba. There are a number of larger venues for weddings that are great in Haliburton County including Sandy Lane Resort, The Domain of Killien and Sir Sam's Ski and Bike but this little school house is perfect for a group under 50. The menu was simple with appetizers served after the ceremony followed by Prime Rib carvery au jus with Yorkshire pudding. After many years of catering it has only been the last few years where we have served this offsite without a kitchen, but we have mastered this and it is our go to for many events. As a Chef it is always amazing to slice into a Prime Rib perfectly medium rare and piping hot 45 minuted away from a kitchen or at somebody's cottage on the lake. Tara'a cupcakes with buttercream icing and fondant petals tasted and looked great and fit the theme that Lacey had created for the evening, overall a fantastic night! We always strive for the best and put our heart and soul into every event, we are so happy to be a part of this wedding celebration. If you are looking for a location for your wedding we can align you with the appropriate venue and menu and look forward to being included in your celebration.
